Well, the numbers are in and Microsoft and the XBox 360 has definitely cleaned up during the Christmas holiday sales. The major factor being that Sony and Nintendo couldn’t get enough PS3s and Wiis (is that the proper plural?) out to meet the demand for their new systems. HOWEVER, from all sources that I’ve been reading, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Gears of War are both fighting for the Game of the Year spot. Naturally, my money’s on Zelda.

Another thing concerning analysts for the gamer’s market is the PS3 is going to suffer unless they can get a real winner of a title out. I want them to have the #2 spot behind Nintendo. Not because of my dislike for Microsoft in general, mind you, but the PS3 has a lot more promise. The work that’s been done on the system could keep the PS3 as a viable market product for 10 years, instead of the every 5 years we’ve been seeing.

That being said, though, can the Wii hold its own until the next ‘console war’? With its current gen technology, it’s pretty much outdated as it is. Nintendo’s strongest selling point has always been its games, so time will tell.

Hate and fear come together to form the most noxious social concoctions, prohibitions. Those who believe that Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde are real share an affliction with the fictional character. In their case a lie serves the same purpose and produces the same effect. Such a simple idea really, a good man takes a drug and becomes a bad man. While good fiction it is bad fact. A drug can easily kill you, but to assume a drug can make a good boy steal money from his mother’s purse, is something only a loving but naive mother could believe.

The willingness to compromise is a much-overrated virtue I think. When you are right it is a cop out, when you are wrong it is condescension and when you are neither you are off point. I suspect compromise was a construct of a tyrant to eek out an advantage where there was none. Either that or I’m just in a bad mood. What do you think?
