Stress reduction software?
by Angalee on Jan.12, 2006, under A.D.D, Graphic Software
During one of my recent attempts to finish my blog redesign, I stumbled upon what is called ElectricSheep. It’s a screen saver program that connects to a network of other users once your PC goes into hibernation. The user can submit a fractal Flame image that they refer to as a dream, a PC Dream.
So what is a Fractal flame Image?
Fractal Flames are algorithmically generated images and animations. The software was originally written in 1992 and released as open source, aka free software. Since then it has developed a lot. It has been incorporated into many graphics programs and ported to most operating systems. The shape of each image is specified by a long string of numbers – a genetic code of sorts.
You can create your own FF with a simple freeware program called Apophysis.
Apophysis is like an adult version of Spirograph without all the pieces.
If ever stressed out, just put on Simon and Garfunkel’s greatest hits and create ElectricSheep.
Maybe some tea too?
Off the subject, just for the record, I have every intention on committing on a new Theme for my blog. But it seems to be taking longer than even I expected. I’m struggling, teetering between lack of motivation and complete chaos. All is well just not a very good recipe for accomplishment.
